Jambo Reunions

I am away with Rachel on holiday in a place called Wales, she has told me that it is part of my training for walking in Switzerland when I go there in September with Jenni.

It was a long drive to Snowdonia National Park and then onto Anglesey but I had a lovely treat when I got there. I met up with Rachel's brother and his family. He like me was really lucky as when he was a Scout (a few years ago) he too got to go to a Jamboree. The Jamboree that Andy went on was a bit further away than Hylands Park, however it sounds like the fun he had was very similar to all the fun that each and everyone of us had. I dont think that the weather in Australia (16th WSJ) was that much more impressive than here to be honest although it does sound as though it was a touch hotter.

Talking about the weather we have just had fantastic weather in wales I managed to spend today on the beach helping Andy build sand castles and even managed to catch up on some more sleep with Jan. You should have seen the chariot that they gave me too, it was much nicer than being in the top of Stuarts bag, I felt like a true king on my own portable throne.

The time I had in Wales at the weekend was fantastic apart ftom one thing Rachel's neice insisted that I had my mane brushed at 0645 in the morning, everyone knows that I like to have long lies in the morning.

Spa Time

Ive been having a fantastic time since I got back from the Jamboree. After spending some time with the Unit at the BBQ last week I have gone on holiday again and this time Im having a great time relaxing, eating healthily, Ive met even more friends and have been to a SPA and am now beautifuly clean. I have finally managed to get the Jambo dust out of my mane and fur and Ive even brushed my main too.

Rachel has introduced me too so many animals over the past few days Ive met Mrs T (AKA as mum (at least thats what Rachel calls her)), Piglet and many more people.
Ive been introduced to something called a piano, its fantastic, it has these buttons on it when you press them it rings out at you. I have been taught so many tunes but as yet Ive not quite managed to play Jambo yet but Im getting better.
Youll also be pleased to hear that Im not eating just meet now Ive also found something called fruit apparently its good for me and it tastes quite good too

Fresh Meet

Today Stuart and Doug came and picked me up from my holiday home in Guildford so that I could go and meet up with some the human SCUBs that were at a BBQ. It was so good to see them all again. They played with me, chatted with me and we even looked at some of the huge amount of photos that were taken at the Jamboree by everyone, there were even some of me that I havent seen yet but hopefully Doug will give them to me so that I can share them all with you too.

I think that I need an early night tonight as Stuart has told me that because I have been so good Im getting another holiday (isnt it good being a Lion its holiday holiday holiday). This time Im going on a Spa break with Rachel so that I can get on top top form again in time for my next adventure. Ive heard rumours that I may be getting to go to Switzerland on a hiking holiday, that will be so much fun if I get to go on that, might need a passport before I go but Im sure that wont be difficult to get after all I am royalty.

Home at last

Well it is now late on Wednesday night and Ive just got home from the Jamboree. The journey home was a bit long and very tiring. Everybody was talking on the bus so I didnt manage to get much sleep until I got to my holiday home in Guildford where I have had a few hours rest and am now settling down for the night. I plan to have a couple of days here before I meet all the SCUBs again so that I can have some piece and quiet.

On Monday we had a fairly quiet day I spent the morning resting after the party from the night before in my tent whilst the others all went off to Elements and learnt all about the Earth, Wind, Fire and Water whilst doing different activities. Then in the evening I went with Ange and Stuart to the Carnival that was taking place. It was fantastic to see all the humans dressed up in coloured clothing. My friend Rory was there walking down the street dancing I so wish I could dance as well as him.
Yesterday I didnt do much. Most of the humans packed their bags up during the day and took down my lookout posts. In the evening I took all of the humans to the closing ceremony. It was fantastic loud music, dancing, performers and scary fireworks. I had a fantastic time despite the fact that it rained for the first hour or so, but I danced with the humans again and had a really wild time. Before too long however it was all over and we all returned to our now emptier looking camp site to say fair well to many of the friends that I and the humans had made over the two weeks that we had all been together.

This morning I packed the last of my clothes and when the humans were eventually ready I got on the bus to head back to Surrey.

Meeting People

Over the past couple of days Ive once again been very busy. Yesterday we all went to Gilwell Park which according to people is a very important place for all the Scouts that Ive been staying with. I had a great day learning about the history of Scouting. I also got to swing in the trees again climbing over obsticals, whilst practicing my skills as a seasoned pro.
In the evening I left the Young people and went to a huge party. At the party I met lots of nice humans. Many of them all looked a bit funny in Pink tops but I had my photo taken with them anyway. One of them was called Susanne (who Ive met a few times round at the Surrey Lion) another was called Gordon whose blog you can read somewhere else.

Gone sailing

Ive had the most exciting afternoon ever. After leaving you the post earlier I did get to go sailing with Mark and also his sister, on a huge boat. Stuart and Doug even managed to find me a great new Jacket just incase I fell into the water, although I was good and cling on with my paws as hard as I could.
The weather was great although I was glad that I have such thick fur as it was a bit windy out there on the lake. I had a great time there going back and forward over the water, Think that I would have enjoyed attacking the pirates but I wasnt allowed as people were scared that I might go missing due to my high statue as King of the Jungle.

Keeping active

The last couple of days have been quite exciting. As I told you all a few days ago we had the Sunrise event that was fantastic. I spent the day with my new friend Rory the Lion who is like me a Jungle Lion and he lives near me in the Jungle.

On Thursday I was supposed to go sailing however because of the humans not doing things properly I didn't get to go, however neither did some of them so it wasnt lik ethey left me at home alone. However once again I did manage to meet some new people, there was some really nice girls in Orange tops that had there photo taken with me outside a supermarket just up from the Jungle, they were quite good looking.
Yesterday I spent the day on both Aqua and Terraville with the young people going round various world tents. I tasted food from the whole world and even got to watch the horses with Kinghts on there backs attacking each other. I so wants to run out and try and eat one of the horses but they wouldnt let me.

This morning Rachel once again came to see me, she even took me for a drink in Black Magic. Sadly she brought along Doug, Stuart and some bloke called David, I think that I have met him before but Im not sure. I spent a while with Rachel (think that she quite likes me but dont tell anyone).

This afternoon they are atlast letting me go sailing hopefully the nice people at splash will find me a nice boat so that I can spend time with Mark and stay dry.

Sunrise

This morning I was rudely awoken from my sleep at 0530 hours as I had to attend the sunrise service that started at 0745, yes I agree that 0530 was a bit early however this was required to get all the Subcamps to the Areana in time for the live link up to Brownsea Island.

Peter Duncan wasnt at the Jamboree site today but instead he joined the 300 or so Scouts selected from the Jamboree site to attend Brownsea Island for the celebrations there.

This afternoon the humans built me a gateway to my den and I have managed to find a great vantage point on it for looking at my family and the jungle. We had many visitors to day trying various foods, must admit I wasnt too keen on the Marmite sandwiches that they served me but the Liquid Jelly was quite good though.
